Duties and Responsibilities: (This list is intended to show ongoing primary duties. Employee may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.) *Â Â Â Â In-cab ride-along with WM drivers on existing routes to determine the effectiveness of route sequencing, document specific route and customer data. *Â Â Â Â While on route, identify weight, time, accessibility, risk and other operating and revenue improvement opportunities. *Â Â Â Â Share ideas to increase route productivity while promoting safe and profitable service. *Â Â Â Â Work with the Market Area General Manager, BIP Analysts, District Managers and fellow Route Managers to review and promote corrective actions. *Â Â Â Â Effectively interact and work with Fleet Optimization Manager (FOM), sales and operations managers to review and promote corrective actions. *Â Â Â Â Comply and ensure adherence to WM's safe operating standards and regulations. *Â Â Â Â Attend and contribute to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain a favorable working relationship among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency. *Â Â Â Â Promote safe, friendly work environment with employees, customers and vendors- acting in a constructive and service-oriented manner. *Â Â Â Â Support analysis and review of the day-to-day operations of the District. *Â Â Â Â Provide direct support and leadership in the event of a natural disaster, labor issue or as requested.*Â Â Â Â Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: (Education, certification, licensure, and experience that is essential to success in the position): *Â Â Â Â 4 year Undergraduate Degree *Â Â Â Â Must possess good working knowledge of MS Office computer programs, including Excel. *Â Â Â Â Must have the ability to assimilate complete information, data, etc from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need. *Â Â Â Â Must have demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills through work experience- preference given to those with experience in advanced education, career experience in Transportation, Dispatch or Logistics. *Â Â Â Â Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize departmental functions in order to meet due dates and deadlines. *Â Â Â Â Must be willing to work various hours beginning as early as 2:00am. *Â Â Â Â Must be able to ride in vehicle for up to 12 hours and sit at a desk for up to 4 or more hours per day with or without reasonable accommodations. *Â Â Â Â Work experience in problem solving and conflict resolution. *Â Â Â Â Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Characteristics: *Â Â Â Â Work experience in Transportation, Dispatch or Logistics is preferred. *Â Â Â Â Must have quick problem solving ability.
