Network Engineer

Our client has an immediate need for a Network Engineer. 

This individual will be responsible for commercially deployed CIS systems and the Quality Assurance internal system. 

QUALIFICATIONS
MCSE or similar certifications, backed by strong experience (3-4 years minimum) in a data center or a high volume, publicly available website run with Microsoft Windows technologies.  This person must have a strong understanding of how to extend the existing network to accommodate new applications. Strong skills include interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication. Strong problem solving skills and ability to manage operational support.  Good communications skills and the ability to work well with others.  This position works directly with staff to support server code deployments.  Good customer services skills are a must!

FUNCTIONS
* Provide *hands-on* operational support of CIS system, including 24x7 pager and providing operational assistance in case of a failure at commercial site.  CIS network comprised of approximately 20 servers and processes more than 10 million queries a month.
* Contribute to new product development process by working closely with software development and QA and providing operations deployment plans.
* Perform database and firewall maintenance.
* Perform daily/weekly system and database backups as well as other routine tasks.
* Assist staff regarding production issues with CIS.
* Work with data centers to perform maintenance on server infrastructure.
* Should be able to determine the best course of action in case of system failure and must be able to make independent decisions of fixing the system and making it operational again.
* Contribute to development and maintenance of policy and user documentation as needed.
* Work with IT department as needed. 
* Perform other functions as requested by management.
* Participate in product testing prior to production deployment

SKILLS
* Microsoft IIS server administration and maintenance
* Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and Advanced Server Administration and Maintenance
* Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Administration and Maintenance
* Microsoft Active Directory
* Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol
* Understanding of Web Server Load Balancing Technologies
* CISSP certification is a plus

GENERAL
* BS or MS in Computer Science or closely related field with at least 3 years experience in network operations.
* Plan for and produce work product of very high quality, accuracy, and integrity.
