This person will act as a subject matter expert and technical advisor to other organizations such as Information Technology, Product Management, Network Architecture, Planning and Engineering, Operations, and Corporate Sourcing. Specifically, this person will be responsible for all phases of the test cycle including: determining requirements, creating test and integration plans, writing test cases, building test beds, performing tests and documenting results in compliance to our ISO 9000:2001 certification. Additionally, this person will be required to interface with vendors to accomplish these tasks. REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science Masters and/or other advanced degree desirable 8+ Years experience in telecommunications and/or network technologies 4+ Years experience in testing systems and/or software Strong technical knowledge of OSSs and EMSs Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills Ability to prioritize and project-manage work within a multitasking environment Strong written & verbal communication/presentation skills Highly motivated, self-starter who is able to work independently and collaboratively Commitment to quality and innovation DESIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE: Experience with Motorola video equipment such as SEMs and SE1000 series desired Experience with NVision digital video routers such as NV5000 desired Experience with Miranda iControl software desired Experience with Cisco/SA video equipment such as DCMs desired Experience with ROSA/Copernicus EMS/NMS desired Experience with Invidi video products desired Experience with SNMP Simulators such as SimpleSoft highly desireable Broad knowledge of video technologies and equipment Knowledge of video encoding (MPEG) and modulation (QAM) Knowledge of video transport such as ASI and SDI Experience with analog and digital video equipment Experience in setting up and troubleshooting networks including LANs, VLANs, subnets, routing Experience with Unix, Linux, Win2k and WinXP.
