Principal - Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing - New York/New Jersey
This position is based in New York City and requires the ability to commute daily to clients in the NYC metro area and NJ. Relocation expenses will not be provided for this role. Given our local consulting model, clients do not typically pay for air travel or hotels, so we are seeking candidates who currently reside in the NYC metro area or have definitive plans to move here.
Principal Consultants are responsible for winning and delivering new business, managing the client service offerings from initial sales pursuit and engagement strategy through the completion of the deliverables.
He/she will analyze, along with other leaders, the strategic and tactical needs of clients and develop and manage deliverable solutions to address those needs.
This position will assist in growing, developing, and managing a team of business consultants as well as defining consulting projects, arranging work, staffing teams, achieving profitability goals, developing personnel and ensuring client satisfaction.
The Business Intelligence Principal maintains overall responsibility for the client engagement and for the successful delivery of the project. He/She is a key liaison to the client with regards to day-to-day management to plan the project and its progress.
Responsibilities
The Business Intelligence Principal develops and manages the project work plan to ensure successful delivery of performance objectives. He/She is responsible for project scope, progress, timeline, and budget. S/he defines and ensures adherence to project standards, resolves issues, and mitigates risk.
Requirements 10+ years professional experience with at least 3 years recent large consulting firm experience and at least two years current/recent experience selling and managing the delivery of business intelligence and/or data warehousing architecture solutions. (This is an absolute requirement for this role.) Demonstrated success in proposing and winning new business in the area of business intelligence or data warehousing Experience managing project risk mitigation and issue resolution Knowledge of various data architectures and master data management, key design concerns and best practices Experience leading the development of a business intelligence strategy, including identification and prioritization of business needs, high-level architecture, and incremental development strategy Familiarity with best of breed business intelligence tools (such as Cognos, Business Objects or Hyperion) as well as experience with technology selection Ability and willingness to manage projects that are not directly related to business intelligence, such as business process improvement initiatives or PMO related activities Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Authorization to work in the US for any employer Ability/Willingness to commute daily to projects within the New York City metro area and New Jersey.
