Mid-Level Ecological Risk Assessor
TechLaw, Inc. is looking to hire a motivated, mid-level ecological risk assessor for a full-time position in North Chelmsford, MA. The successful candidate has a BS or MS in biological sciences or a related environmental discipline, and three to five years of consulting experience. He or she provides technical support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency by critically reviewing and providing technical comments on work plans, quality assurance project plans, sampling and analysis plans, and terrestrial/aquatic ecological risk assessment reports prepared by third parties in support of large-scale federal projects. A strong familiarity with EPA’s Superfund ecological risk assessment guidelines is a must. Experience in a regulatory environment is preferred but not required. The candidate has excellent spoken and written communication skills, strong computer skills, can work independently or as part of a larger team, and can deliver a high quality work product on time and on budget. He or she must be able to support multiple projects and quickly change focus from one project to another. The candidate’s background includes experience or familiarity with field sampling, data analysis, wildlife food chain modeling, ecotoxicity testing, selecting contaminants of concern, deriving exposure point concentrations, and calculating risk-based remediation goals.
