The Business Technology Division covers the complete lifecycle of information management: from initial strategy and technology selection, through design and deployment, to long-term support and iterative improvement. This division consists of practices in Knowledge Management, Portal Solutions and Business Process Improvement.



 

Job Description:

The BPM Developer in the Business Process Improvement Practice will develop enterprise BPM solutions for PPC’s public and private-sector clients.  The developer will work individually and/or on a development team to deliver solutions using BPM software, Java, J2EE, SQL, XML, and Web Services.  He/she will design and develop application prototypes, utilities, and solutions across multiple environments using full life-cycle methodologies (requirements definition, design, development, testing, and implementation).  The developer is required to produce technical specifications and design documentation including process flow, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, physical architecture, system and web services interface specifications, data dictionary and data model, etc.  The developer will install and configure Business Process Management Software and related applications in a standalone and clustered environments. 

 

This position will require participation in internal design reviews and code reviews; perform unit testing and conduct system testing.  The developer will assist with and provide input to implementation plans and operational plans.  The position works with the Technical Lead and Project Manager to create project work estimates as well as reporting progress to internal manager and the client manager in a timely and effective manner.   The position requires the ability to set priorities and resolve project issues, escalating when appropriate. 

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates should possess the following:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field

· 2 – 3 years experience developing and implementing enterprise applications using a full life cycle development process

· 2 -3 years experience developing J2EE applications, using one or several of the following: JSP, JSM, EJB, Struts, JSF

· Experience with developing user interfaces with JSP, ASP, HTML and scripting languages

· Experience with XML, XSL and XML Schema standards

· Strong technical  skills in MS Visual Basic (VB) and additional programming language (C++/C#)

· Solid knowledge of development on one or more operating systems: UNIX (Solaris, HP, AIX), LINUX and Windows Server 2000/2003

· Knowledge in either MS SQL or Oracle as well as strong SQL and database design experience

· Experience installing, configuring, and/or maintaining application and web servers including: Apache Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere

· Preferred experience in Business Process Management concepts and experience working with a BPM software package (e.g., BEA AquaLogic BPM, Lombardi, Metastorm, Appian, Ultimus, HandySoft, etc.)

· Willing and able to travel up to 75%, both nationally and internationally

· Strong customer-facing skills, including solid written and verbal communication
