Opportunity in growing business segment for a Manufacturing Manager. This segment is adding shifts to accommodate additional volumes of business. Oversee 40-50 employees in three shifts. Responsible for supervising overall plant manufacturing operations to meet the production schedule with quality products on a timely basis in a cost efficient and safe manner. Through Team Leaders, assures production objectives are met within cost quality and safety standards. Responsible for employment decisions, reviews and overall development of department leaders. Budgetary responsibility for all manufacturing operations.

 

Responsibilities: Drive production and shipping schedules and monitor production to assure efficiencies are maintained. Develop and manage team of production supervisors and team leaders including behavior relevant to company values, policies, procedures and performance standards. Establish and develop teams and maintain effective working relationships within and across departments and the company to support organization strategies. Coordinate plant activities working with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. Communicate with the Engineering Department regarding maintenance methods and Quality Assurance concerns. Suggest new manufacturing methods to achieve maximum productivity in a continuous process improvement/lean manufacturing environment. Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards. Develop and manage company safety programs and policies. Create opportunities to control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.

 

Requirements: BS degree in manufacturing/operations management or related field or comparable experience required. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment 5 or more years of supervisory experience including demonstrated success growing and developing a team of strong leaders. Experience leading lean projects Advanced knowledge of ISO and/or QS based quality systems.
