MGR - FINANCIAL CONTROLS & COMPLIANCE

To ensure that all Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) relevant control activities are developed and maintained in compliance with Company and regulatory standards, for Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) and the other North American Affiliates should they be in scope. This position will also be responsible for undertaking non-SOX oriented operational and vendor audits to support NNI and the North American Affiliates, and support NNI with financial analysis and the preparation of special-purpose financial statements. RELATIONSHIPS:Reports to the AVP/Controller. This position will interact across all levels of NNI Finance, and works closely with other functions throughout NNI where processes significantly impact Financial Reporting. The position will have frequent interaction, coordination and will build strong relationships with Novo Nordisk’s Financial Corporate Governance & Risk Office and Group Internal Audit (GIA). In addition, there will be interaction with Finance Management of other North American Affiliates, the NN SAP solution center and external auditors.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Sarbanes Oxley Compliance:• Responsible for planning and coordinating SOX compliance for NNI. Partner with Corporate Headquarters (NNAS) to assist in planning global aspects of SOX compliance initiatives.• Prepare and continuously improve process documentation including narratives, flowcharts and analysis of risks and controls and make recommendations for simplification and efficiencies wherever possible.• Enhance and challenge process-owner understanding and ownership of process design and controls.• Establish routine testing of the effectiveness of existing internal controls and recommend remediation alternatives to address control gaps.• Maintain a process to compile, track and archive the Company’s internal control documentation.• Coordinate the independent testing of internal controls by GIA and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.• Deliver timely updates to management and to Novo Nordisk’s Financial Corporate Governance & Risk Office concerning compliance.• Provide insight and recommendations to management concerning process improvement opportunities beyond those related to internal control.Enhancing Operational Control Efficiencies:• Conduct operational reviews and audits upon request of Finance Management or Functional Management.• Partner with Strategic Sourcing and Functional units to identify opportunities for vendor audits to ensure compliance and value of services procured.Financial Analysis and Financial Statement Preparation:• Responsible for a number of routine and ad hoc accounting and financial analyses for specified advanced accounting areas.• Preparation of special-purpose financial statements and coordination with external auditors as necessary.• Undertake special projects and assist with other Finance initiatives.KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS• Bachelor’s Degree required.
