The Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt is responsible for deploying and driving Lean Six Sigma across assigned divisions/functions of client programs. This position has significant leadership impact on the success of the Lean Six Sigma program, reports directly to the US Lean Director located in Troy, Michigan.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefit across assigned divisions/functions
* Align Lean Six Sigma initiative and project objectives to business strategy, and prioritize projects accordingly
* Act as change agent to instill Lean Six Sigma culture throughout the organization
* Train, coach and develop Black Belt and Green Belt resources assigned to projects related to Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology
* Complete Black Belt training and projects required for Master Black Belt certification
* Provide technical leadership and coordination to major improvement projects within the business / function
* Partner with Deployment Leaders in identification and monitoring of process improvement teams
* Train Black Belts, Green Belts and project teams
* Coach process owners, black belts, and deployment leaders
* Lead multiple process improvement teams towards Lean Six Sigma to result in defect reduction, cost avoidance, loss reduction or revenue enhancement
* Partner with Deployment Leaders to develop, install and monitor a business process management system, including measurement tracking, reporting and correlation analysis
* Facilitate quality and change management processes; identify customer needs and key drivers to reach customer satisfaction goals with financial benefit
Required Skills:
* Bachelor's degree; advanced degree desirable
* Formal Lean or Lean Six Sigma training and certification
* Master Black Belt Certification preferred
* Minimum of 8 years professional level experience
* 5 years of experience in Lean or Six Sigma, with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Master Black Belt
* Candidate must be able to obtain federal security clearance
* Candidate must be able to travel globally
* Completion of 3 lean related projects with demonstrated success and financial results preferred
*Technical competency in Lean Six Sigma skills: DMAIC, DFSS, Lean, Kaizen/Work-out, process management, change management and advanced statistical techniques
* Experience coaching and delivering training at all levels of an organization
Preferred Skills:
* Transactional experience with focus on Sales and/or Service
* Proven leadership, project management, problem-solving and team development skills
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Demonstrated success initiating change and ability to influence at all levels
* Proficiency in Windows, Minitab, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and simulation software
