This role will require periodic travel to domestic and international locations (including Mexico and Kuwait). LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - NO RELOCATION OFFERED FOR THIS ROLE. CANDIDATE MUST CURRENTLY POSSESS A VALID PASSPORT, OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN ONE WITHIN 60 DAYS. Ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience as a CADD (AutoCAD and Microstation) administrator in an engineering environment (preferably process, chemical or petrochemical engineering). Additionally this person will be responsible for the following: 1. Troubleshoot broad range of technical problems encountered by production, engineers, designers, management, and support staff. Implement solutions and uncover root causes when appropriate. 2. Support CADD users in all matters relative to the proper and efficient use of CADD including hardware, software, peripherals, policies, procedures, and project specific needs and goals. 3. Perform installation, configuration and customization of CADD systems according to established standards. 4. Conduct CADD training classes when necessary. 5. Test and evaluate products being considered for use by CADD users. 6. Create and/or modify menus, batch files, script and macro routines, AutoLISP programs, MicroStation user commands, etc. in support of CADD activities. 7. Serve as CADD liaison with clients regarding CADD standards, file transfers, special project needs, etc. 8. Work closely with upper management and EIS to ensure the network is conducive to the needs of the CADD users. 9. Establish and maintain network directory structures and file naming conventions to allow for proper storage and retrieval of drawing files. 10. Incorporate client-dictated CADD standards and specifications into the system so that CADD users can efficiently produce high quality deliverables according to the needs of the client. 11. Load/upgrade CADD software applications as required. 12. Ensure the security of client and CDI corporate information in accordance with business unit and enterprise wide policies and standards. 13. Assist in providing training for CADD applications, where appropriate. 14. Other duties as assigned by CDI P&I Information Technology management. The following skills and experience are highly desired: 1. Prefer an Associates degree in CADD design or drafting. 2. Must have CADD design or CADD drafting experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation. 3. Prefer a minimum of three to five years experience in supporting CADD users in an engineering environment, preferably process, petrochemical or chemical engineering. 4. Strong experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting desktop PCs highly desirable. 5. Strong communications and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to assess business situation and develop and establish priorities. 7. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in situations or business environment. 8. Broad knowledge of systems and utilities. 9. Demonstrated motivational skills. Supervisory Responsibilities: May direct and supervise assigned personnel particularly as it relates to the effective support of CADD systems.
