We are a growing software company located in Westchester County, NY, providing logistics & supply chain software solutions. Our core product offering is Warehouse Management (WMS) primarily to customers involved in Retail Distribution, Business-to-Business (B2B) and Direct to Consumer (B2C) distribution. Our solutions are frequently deployed in highly automated warehouse environments using state of the art distribution and material handling equipment, but must also be capable of supporting simple operations with limited automation. Our customers highly value our technology, personalized attention, services and support.
We are looking for motivated individuals that can help grow our team and drive development of our software. Applicants should consider themselves independent, self-starters with an entrepreneurial attitude who want to be part of building our business at our corporate office in Ossining (Westchester County) NY.
Responsibilities: Understand the functional/operational concepts and interpret design specifications and estimates for JAVA program development of WMS applications and Customer Specific ModificationsParticipate/prepare design specifications and deliver quality software in a timely manner. Work with our R&D team to meet internal production deadlines as well as maintain/support existing applications. Work with our Professional Services Implementation team to meet delivery deadlines for customer specific modificationsWilling to provide implementation support for customers, onsite, as needed while our team grows. Our customers generally do not require programming support on site and are primarily located within driving distance of our office, however you may occasionally be asked to travel farther to assist with some implementations when deemed necessary. Communicate with and support the Project Leaders and customers as needed. Propose software configurations/modifications to help adapt to business changes. Recognize and propose core software improvements when opportunities are seen. Become familiar with the customer business practices related to the software we develop, in order to provide better technical solutions.Carrying out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end user requirements.Testing life cycle including analyzing and testing software to ensure proper operation and freedom of defects. Report progress on all activities to the project leaderAssist with product upgrade activities if you have past experience with AS400/ILE RPG
Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Specific coursework in JAVA programming.Proficient in data architectures, algorithm & relational database design.Experience working in IBM Websphere Development Studio or similar development environment Excellent problem solving, investigative, troubleshooting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of documenting your software development.Working experience or internship performing JAVA programming, developing highly-scalable, distributed, dynamic client-server applications a plusWorking experience or internship performing software development with a WMS/Supply Chain/Logistics Software company, other packaged software company, or internal IT department implementing/programming modifications in JAVA a plusAbility and willingness to see the point of view of the customerA strong desire for quality and an attention to detailExcellent social and interpersonal skills and a desire to work in team environmentSolid time planning and organizational skillsWillingness to do what is necessary to grow the business
Desirable Additional Technical experience: Struts Framework (Model 2 MVC techniques), JSF or other application frameworkHands-on experience with AJAX, Hibernate, JavaScript, XMLWeb services and components for a distributed application server using the latest techniques Prior experience with AS400/ILE RPG programming a plus
