As part of a ten-person team, this person will provide direct support for organizing, implementing and maintaining an Information Systems Security Program (ISSP) for a component of our Federal client.  The goal of this ISSP is to ensure security of all information technology assets in a manner which achieves compliance with industry and government standards. 

 

Location is Washington, DC; the candidate must be flexible with varying degrees of travel as needed and be able to obtain an active secret security clearance. 

 

The successful candidate will support the Project Manager and Technical lead in managing junior staff and in conducting activities that include:

- Categorize sensitivity of information and information systems;

- Conduct formal Certification and Accreditation (C&A) of all agency IT systems;

- Implement security controls throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle;

- Use the Capital Planning and Investment Controls (CPIC) process to formulate and plan security costs for all systems;

- Monitor the system Configuration Management (CM) process of all systems;

- Prepare agency annual Program and System specific security plans;

- Manage an effective Security Awareness and Training Program;

- Manage the agency Security Incident Response Program;

- Conduct annual self-assessment of the ISSP using NIST standards;

- Establish an electronic inventory of all IT systems and computing devices;

- Respond to regular and ad hoc reporting requirements and audits by internal or external agencies; and

- Monitor agency compliance to governing bodies’ policy for security. 

 

To be qualified for this opportunity, the successful candidate must possess:

- 6 years of progressive experience supporting information technology projects related to information and computer security;

- Prior demonstrated ability to assess systems and processes for compliance with information security rules and standards;

- Prior demonstrated ability to implement information technology processes and procedures, especially those pertaining to information security;

- Initiative, flexibility, tenacity, and leadership skills;

- Ability to acquire a security clearance;

- Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following disciplines: computer science, management information systems, engineering, math, or a similar field.
