Network and Server Administration Industry Management Consulting Services Career Level Experienced (Non-Manager) Reference Code 15926.749738.55036 CDI has an immediate need for an IT Infrastructure Technician.The primary role of this technical position is to support the science community at clients research and development facilities.This position includes supporting a data center facility and campus network for lab automation, data acquisition and scientific computing.The position of Network Engineer encompasses design, maintenance and troubleshooting of LAN networks in addition to providing leadership and guidance for project teams comprised of 1 to 5 network technicians.The Network Engineer will also be part of the on call rotation as well as manage network projects from inception through implementation, including scope definition, project justification, management of vendors, personnel and other resources. Minimum Skills Required:B.S. degree in CS/EE/IS or equivalent work experience.5+ years experience in network engineering.Advanced network certifications (CCNP, CCDP, and/or BICSI)Previous experience supporting a data center infrastructure.Ability to design, configure, implement and troubleshoot data networks.Manage medium to large size network infrastructure projects.Experience with network planning, diagramming and troubleshooting tools such as MS Project, Visio, Wireshark, Fluke and Omniscanner.Experience with Cisco switched networks using Catalyst switches, Cisco routers, single and multi-mode fiber optic cabling, category 5/6 copper wiring.Ability to troubleshoot desktop, server operating systems, and network problems.Solid understanding of network protocols. (TCP/IP, SNMP and IP routing)Solid experience supporting wireless and mobile technologies.Strong project planning skills.Ability to provide technical support through written communications, over the phone, and in person.Ability to work in a team environment.Planning and organization skills that enable one to multitask effectively in an interrupt driven environment.Previous experience working in a research environment.
