The American Diabetes Association has an exciting opportunity for an individual to lead all fund-raising efforts, community outreach, volunteer recruitment and supervision of staff (13) working in the following markets: Cincinnati (OH), Louisville (KY), Lexington (KY) and Charleston (WV). This Executive Director position is based in our downtown Cincinnati, OH office. Fund-raising events include Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes, Tour de Cure cycling event, and several galas. The successful candidate is the staff partner for the local Community Leadership Boards, serves with other Executive Directors in the Southeast on the Divisional management team, engages community volunteers and staff in a participatory planning and outcome evaluation process and maintains contact with volunteer leadership throughout the area to ensure effective working relationships and ongoing volunteer growth. In addition, the Executive Director will collaborate across market lines and work with multiple teams on national and multi-market levels (including major gifts, corporate development and advocacy). Must have demonstrated success in recruiting & engaging volunteers from the business community, managing multiple budgets, and successfully coaching staff teams in a high pressure sales-oriented environment.

* Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree a plus) * Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive management experience in similar non-profit organizations supervising a specialized staff of ten or more employees * Demonstration of active hands-on experience in fund-raising with special event goals in excess of $2 million alone, program delivery, volunteer recruitment, and community development * Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with volunteers from across divergent geographical and socio-economic backgrounds * Must have access to a car, as frequent local travel is required
