Staff Accountant

Overview/Job Description:
Our client located in Newark, NJ is urgently seeking Staff Accountant responsible for general accounting within the Finance department. Responsibilities include monthly and quarterly financial reporting, account analysis, bank reconciliations, and journal entries. Firm offers competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Requirements:Bachelors degree (Accounting major preferred) 3 - 5 years staff accounting experience (Law Firm or professional services firm preferred). Working knowledge of Elite or similar accounting system. Advanced Excel skills. Must be detail oriented. Must be proactive at finding and correcting accounting errors. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must be organized and a self- starter

Responsibilities:Prepare and distribute Daily Cash Sheet. Prepare and distribute Associate Billable Hours report monthly. Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Financial Reports. Print and review monthly financial statements. Perform account analysis. Responsible for bank reconciliations of main Operating, Payroll, and Trust accounts. Provide data for Government Census Reports. Prepare monthly Delaware Gross Receipts Tax payments. Process Journal Entries as needed. Provide requested data for financial statement audit. Enter stop payments when required. Transmit positive pay file to the bank daily. Process W-9 requests.
