More information about Thomson Reuters and its financial performance can be found on www.ThomsonReuters.com.   New Product Development has an opening for a Senior Product Developer.  The Senior Product Developer assists in the development of Westlaw databases, software, and web-based product features to assist legal professionals in the practice of law and supporting the litigation process.  Areas of focus will include electronic discovery, document review, court document drafting and filing, and case management as well as trial preparation and presentation.  The Senior Product Developer will assist in the creation of product concept proposals and business cases.  The Senior Product Developer will help create and update product designs and specifications, and ensure implementation of the approved plans with other functional areas including technology, content development, and marketing.    Major Areas of Accountability: Assist in the design, development and launch of new products Identify and assess customer needs, market size, competitive landscape, and financial opportunity for new products Create product designs and functional specifications to ensure that product features address customer needs Actively participate in project meetings to ensure successful implementation of product designs Assist in the creation and/or review of sales and training materials Monitor new product usage, subscriptions, sales, and revenue, tracking progress against business case metrics. Serve as liaison with relevant cross-functional groups, including Strategy, Technology and Content Centers, Content Operations, Central Marketing, Market Segments, Sales and Account Management, Finance, and Customer Experience Operations. Occasional travel may be required. Qualifications: 4-year college degree and a J.D., M.B.A., or M.L.I.S. preferred A minimum of 3-5 years litigation experience working in and managing the electronic discovery process including vendor selection, client management, and document review as well as drafting legal documents for court and preparing for trial presentation Strong working knowledge of electronic discovery and case management tools Interest in new technologies and their potential application to the practice of law Ability and willingness to develop subject matter expertise in one or more legal topics or practice areas Proven analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy Proficiency with Westlaw and other electronic legal information resources, including Internet resources Ability to work both independently, and as a member of a team, across a highly-matrixed organization to accomplish objectives Proven ability to prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously, while adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
