Membership and Marketing Manager
The ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law, the world’s largest intellectual property organization, serving over 23,000 members, is seeking an experienced and innovative Membership and Marketing Manager. This key staff position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive marketing and membership program for the Section. He or she will support the strategic plan through membership development and marketing activities and will use both electronic and print media to market and promote Section programs, products and services. This manager will oversee membership development strategies and programs, including the creation, production and delivery of campaigns within budget, overseeing contractors and vendors and working with volunteer leadership, members and staff. The manager is also responsible for development and integration of the Section website content and technology related to membership and marketing strategies.
The right candidate will have: at least 3-5 years proven and quantifiable association management and membership and marketing experience in a non-profit environment; a bachelors degree in marketing, communications or a related field; knowledge of membership database systems; production and printing requirements; strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, database management, Internet research skills; superior communication skills and writing ability; problem solving, and organizational skills; strong customer service focus and the facility to work with staff, members, outside organizations and the public. The successful candidate will bring strategic planning, budgeting, demographic analysis and survey expertise, well-developed business acumen, and be able to successfully negotiate and grow relationships with external member and prospect organizations.
