Litigation Support Manager
A prestigious Center City Philadelphia law firm is currently seeking a seasoned Litigation Support Manager to work closely with the firm's litigation attorneys as well as members of the IT department, Litigation Support Analysts and other staff to provide litigation support to all of the firm’s attorneys and clients. This position reports directly into the Director of IT.
The ideal candidate will have experience identifying, developing and implementing strategies for using litigation support software/technologies, including the preparation of related documentation, and management of quality control measures. In addition, this position will provide consulting expertise to the firm’s legal team to evaluate scopes of work, define deliverables, and manage litigation support and e-discovery projects. The Litigation Support Manager will coordinate and oversee the work of the support staff as it relates to litigation support and act as liaison between IT, Litigation Support and our attorneys.
Primary Responsibilities:
The areas of responsibility include needs analysis, presentations and visuals, database loading/exporting, document review status assignments and reporting, training and support for the various litigation software tools, documentation, quality control activities and vendor interactions. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinating the activities related to the aggregation, inventory, processing, review and production of data in connection with the electronic discovery process.
· Maintaining and supporting the various litigation specific applications used by the firm
· Designing and building databases containing electronic discovery data, organizing volumes of data delivered in various formats, developing written protocols and quality control mechanisms and train/support litigation users as they utilize the databases.
· Demonstrating competent knowledge of the litigation continuum, including associated workflow, particularly as it relates to electronic discovery.
· Demonstrating high proficiency regarding customer service for both internal and external clients.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years in litigation technology and support role; at least 3 years in litigation support management
· High competence as both a litigation technology manager and leader of people in a large law firm setting.
· Ability to successfully lead and develop a team and coordinate with project teams, task forces and project schedules.
· Substantial knowledge of the litigation process and familiarity with litigation specific software (CaseMap, Summation/CaseLogistix/Concordance, Realtime or LiveNote, IPRO and others) as well as experience with Microsoft Office applications, E-Discovery concepts, best practices and tools, trial presentations (Sanction or Trial Director) and creation of graphics.
· Ability to evaluate and assess cases as they are presented; provide estimates as to cost in time and money to run a case through the discovery process
· Excellent written and oral communications skills, with demonstrated team building and project management capabilities.
