Legal Secretary/ Word Processing Operator

North Bridge Staffing is currently working in conjunction with one of the top law firms in the nation to hire a Legal Secretary/Word Processing Operator.  If you have 3-5 years experience in a legal environment and are looking for a very well known law firm that will offer a great working environment and excellent benefits, this could be to job for you!

Position Title: Secretary/Word Processing Operator

Summary:

Perform secretarial and clerical duties utilizing a variety of office equipment.  Receive and work on overflow documents from secretaries/attorneys.  Maintain log of incoming and outgoing documents.  Maintain quality control to ensure accurate, efficient and timely completion of assignments.  Distribute assignments to available secretaries, as needed.  Learn new software applications when required.  Route documents to secretaries/attorneys upon completion and perform other administrative assignments as required. 

Hours:  9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Functions and Responsibilities:

· Create, revise and/or reformat Word documents, Excel spreadsheets or PowerPoint presentations.

· Utilize advanced features of Microsoft Word, including creating financial tables.

· Handle complex and difficult assignments.

· Transcribe correspondence, memos, legal documents and reports using Dictaphone or WinScribe (digital dictation).  Proofread completed transcription to ensure quality and accuracy.

· Prepare legal documents for filing with the court

· Scan documents using OmniPage 12 software.

· Enter attorney time using DTE2001 software.

Requirements:

· Typing speed of 65-70 WPM

· A minimum of 3-5 years of working in a word processing department.

· Good organizational skills/Ability to multitask.

· Excellent customer service and communication skills.

· Ability to follow instructions.
