Legal Recruiting Assistant
Howrey LLP recently acknowledged as an "A" list firm in The American Lawyer's list of "the best law firms in the land," has an exciting Legal Recruiting Assistant opportunity in its Washington, DC office. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the recruitment of law school students, the planning and execution of Howrey’s summer program (including Bootcamp), and fall recruiting.
Responsibilities Arrange for on-campus interviewing dates and the scheduling of attorneys to interview. Schedule callback interviews and arrange for travel and hotel accommodations. Process travel reimbursement requests. Assist with planning and executing fall recruiting events and receptions. Prepare offer and rejection letters. Work with various departments (payroll, IT, facilities, secretarial, marketing) to prepare for arrival of summer associates. Assist summer associates with finding summer housing. Assist with managing and monitoring the Summer Program/Bootcamp on-line website. Assist with planning and executing the summer associate orientation and summer associate events, both in-house and off-site. Assist with preparing a post-Bootcamp report and analysis. Coordinate offers & rejections. Prepare and maintain files of students who accept. Assist with completing NALP forms, law school surveys and other statistical information as required. Input all appropriate information for students and new hires in the Firm’s recruiting database, LawCruit. Schedule and distribute information for office Hiring Committee meetings. Assist with developing and updating marketing materials, including website, advertising, and giveaways. Process invoices for payment. Prepare on-campus interview notebooks. Prepare interview schedules. Assist with meeting and greeting candidates. Coordinate recruiting files. Maintain summer associate files. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and at least one year recruiting experience is required, preferably in a law firm setting. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and be comfortable working with database applications and spreadsheets. Strong organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Must enjoy working with others, be a team player, a role model within the firm, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends during peak times is also necessary.
