Intellectual Property Practice Assistant

Our client, a national Dallas law firm, is seeking an Intellectual Property Practice Assistant with 2+ years of experience.  Qualified candidates will have knowledge of and stay current with US Patent and Trademark prosecution requirements.  Maintain the docket for the prosecution attorneys supported in accordance with firm policy.  Prepare and forward client reporting letters.  Prepare drafts of each response due to the USPTO, including opening and closing language and at least a scan of rejections in an Office Action.  Prepare general correspondence, reports, memoranda and material of a general nature and documents specific to the practice area.  Responsible for firm-related administrative items for the supported attorneys, including, but not limited to, travel arrangements, expense reports, billing, etc.

 

The successful candidate will have an Associates Degree or equivalent from a two- year college or technical school and one to two years of prosecution related experience and/or training.  Computer database experience is a plus.  CPI Database experience preferred.
