In April 2005, Winston & Strawn's Washington, D.C. attorneys and staff moved into their new office space at 1700 K Street NW. The firm occupies more than 150,000 square feet in this recently constructed building overlooking Farragut Square on the corner of K and 17th Streets. The additional square footage at this new location provides the space needed for the firm to continue to expand and flourish in the nation's capital.

JOB DUTIES:

Coordinate support of the Library's electronic resources Firm-wide.  Responsible for in-person and computer-assisted electronic resources training and for the development and maintenance of supporting materials.  Coordinate the promotion of electronic resources and the continued development of current awareness services.  Support the electronic resources staff in carrying out administrative functions related to electronic resources access and maintenance.  Provide back-up support for the administration of the Electronic Resources Support Team's email box and support line, and for designated systems.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position



· Bachelor's degree required. 

· 2 years minimum experience in legal research and information services required.

· Experience with Windows, LexisNexis, and Westlaw required.



 

 ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:



Master's degree in Library or Computer Sciences strongly preferred.  In-depth knowledge of computer processes and applications, bibliographic content, Internet, and various network applications preferred.  Working knowledge of print and non-print, legal and non-legal resources.  Understanding of and ability to use various platforms to access electronic information necessary.  Ability to evaluate which resource will provide the best results most efficiently and cost-effectively necessary.  Knowledge of database architecture and design with the ability to explain computer processes.  Training experience in legal and non-legal research methods and applications.  Ability to solve problems by gathering information and determining appropriate approach to solution.  Lifting and shifting of heavy volumes and ability to reach high shelving by standing on a stool necessary.  Ability to sit for extended periods of time to use a computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal necessary.  Experience with administration of electronic resources considered a plus.  Demonstrated knowledge of utilizing software and other tools to create instructional and promotional materials.  Experience with E-learning a plus.  Ability to take  initiative, utilize good judgment, effectively communicate, exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, and be willing to work in a team-oriented management environment with expectations of high accomplishment.
