Docketing Specialist

Dickstein Shapiro LLP, a large general practice law firm with a substantial Intellectual Property (IP) practice is currently seeking an experienced Docketing Specialist to work with a team of professionals.

Primary responsibilities include: Opening, date stamping, and reviewing all incoming mail, courier packages, and facsimile for the IP department; reserving new matter numbers from accounting for all new cases; maintaining a docket listing for all upcoming deadlines, publication dates, and statuses; processing new patent application case matters and entering them into the IP Master database; updating and maintaining a case history for all cases being prosecuted by the IP department; calculating and verifying docket dates; and creating docket reports for both attorneys and clients.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years IP docketing experience handling both foreign and domestic Patent and Trademark correspondence; a working knowledge of all patent and trademark procedures in both the U.S. and International countries; strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. PC Master or IP Master experience is strongly desired. Flexibility for OT a must.
