Job Description:
The Chicago office is seeking a Benefit Services Assistant who will work in collaboration with other benefits professionals to administer health and welfare benefits. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: processing medical, dental, vision, life, LTD and other health & welfare benefit enrollments for all Chicago office employees; provide exceptional customer service on all issues of health & welfare benefits; administer pre-tax benefits; administer eligibility reporting to carriers and reconciliation of discrepancies; work with plan carries on status updates, issue reconciliation and information sharing; maintain working knowledge of Firm policies and federal and state regulations on health & welfare benefits; assist with leave of absence processing; create reports and census files using Firm’s HRIS system; and other projects as assigned. Additionally, this position will partner with HRIS team to assess, implement and maintain HR systems to meet Benefit department goals and objectives; evaluate current business processes and make recommendations for more efficient solutions; and responsible for creating and running routine and ad hoc reports through HR system.
The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years benefits experience in administering health & welfare plans with an absolute commitment to client service for delivery of benefits in a flawless manner. Knowledge of federal and state rules covering health & welfare benefits, including Section 125 Cafeteria Plan regulations a must. Candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a proven track record of maintaining confidentiality, and the ability to take initiative, prioritize, complete work with minimal supervision, and meet strict deadlines. Technical proficiency in an HRIS system (preferably PeopleSoft), MS Word and Excel required. PowerPoint and Access experience is a plus.
