Job Description Job DescriptionUpdated: July 2008 Title: Asset Protection Agent  Location: Corporate-Asset Protection  FLSA Status: Non-Exempt THE COMPANYThe Sports Authority is headquartered in Englewood, CO and is the largest full-line sporting goods retailer in the United States. The company operates 430+ stores in forty-five states. The Company was established in 1928 and offers a comprehensive high-quality assortment of brand name sporting apparel and equipment at competitive prices.  MANAGEMENT & REPORTING STRUCTUREReports directly to District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Agent is a full time, non exempt (hourly) position.  Monitors the sales floor to identify and apprehend shoplifters.  Agent will also assist the DAPM with internal investigations.  May be responsible for one to two stores with minimal travel within the district. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES·  Monitors sales floor for theft activities.·  Monitors point of sale area to identify fraudulent internal or external theft/fraud.·  Supports internal investigations.·  Partner with local law enforcement agencies and officers.·  Represent Sports Authority in criminal court cases.·  Assists store management with physical security, EAS and safety issues.·  Conducts/assists store management with inventory preparation and audits.·  Observes and reports operational procedure compliance and loss indicators. Ability to solve a wide range of complex, multi-disciplinary problems which must consider short and intermediate term company-wide planning.·  Maintains a high level of integrity as it pertains to the position and keeps all information confidential as it regards to sensitive case information.·  Educates associates about their role in shrink, internal/external dishonesty, and TSA policies and procedures as they pertain to Asset Protection.·  Schedules and conducts Safety/Shrink Meetings in collaboration with store manager and follows-up on actions.·  Maintains accurate Asset Protection records as required.  Complete all Asset protection reports in a timely manner and distribute them to all appropriate parties.·  Follow company apprehension policies and procedures designed for shoplifters.·  Manage mileage reports.·  Time clock management and accountability. Responsible for other duties as assigned or developed.·  Conducting periodic cycle counts and inventory analysis PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ·  Preferred, but not necessary, degree in law enforcement or equivalent relevant experience.·  Preferred, but not necessary, one to three years experience in asset protection / loss prevention in a retail environment.·  PC experience is preferred. ·  Ability to write standard documentation and case incidents using established report writing format.  Learn more about Sports Authority | View all Sports Authority Career Opportunities |
