We’re looking for people like you. How Big Can You Think? Job Responsibilities/The Role/The Job Are you excited about Music, and be on the forefront of bringing the best experience to the end users. If so, you have the opportunity to be part of the team that builds the top Music site on the internet. This position is responsible for developing the Music Site, located at http://music.yahoo.com We are building very interesting Music applications such as Music Video, Internet Radio, Music Blogs, Yahoo Media Player (http://mediaplayer.yahoo.com) and many other exciting applications. The role covers: • Build cutting edge applications and mashups to entertain millions of users • Develop scalable applications that services up to thousands of requests per second • Review wireframes, design treatments and PRD • Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, implementation of methodologies to ensure high quality software • Utilize software engineering best practices such as source control, unit testing and continuous integration Job Qualifications (these are the qualifications for this position) • Intermediate to Advanced experience in: o PHP o XHTML o CSS o JavaScript o Ajax o MVC Frameworks o OO design and development • Cross browser compatibility • Search Engine Optimization • Usage of Web Services, XML/XSLT and REST/SOAP style interfaces • Experience using caching layer such as SQUID and Memcached • PHP5 experience strongly preferred • Prior experience on PHP Frameworks (CakePHP, Zend, Symfony, CodeIgniter) preferred • Javascript Frameworks (Dojo, Prototype, Mootools, JQuery) preferred • Content Managements Systems (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.) preferred • Knowledge of MySQL strongly preferred • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university preferred Yahoo!
