System & Network Administrator

- Game Invasion, a cutting-edge gaming destination recently launched to a nationwide audience
- thePlatform, a B2B content management service provider.
- Fancast.com, a national online entertainment media content site.


Job Description:
Become a member of a dynamic and growing team that is vital to Comcast and its internet properties. The individual will be an integral part of the development and testing team, closely working with and supporting the activities of the principal engineers, developers, and software testers for new application deployment and sustained engineering of existing applications. They will participate and be responsible for implementation and support of development systems, qa systems, and production systems at our data centers, including all network- and systems-related infrastructure components.

Job Responsibilities:
Monitor stability and performance of all systems
Provide support for common administrative tasks
Diagnose, correct and document system level problems
Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes
Rack space planning, management and cabling, mounting of various devices
Manage and operate back-up systems for production and development environments
Manage shared storage (SAN, NAS)
Management of IP address space for the environment, including public and private addresses, NATing, and creation of Virtual IP addresses for supporting clustered and load-balanced solutions
Document standard operating procedures for the technical eco-systems that are being managed.
Configure, document and monitor network infrastructure. Responsibilities will include working with load balancers (f5, foundry), switches and routers (cisco and netgear), and firewalls (checkpoint/nokia and juniper).
Share on-call responsibilities to provide 24x7 support


Required Skills:
*Strong competence in solaris 8-10 required
*Working knowledge of zones, zfs, smf integration a must
*Experience with and solid understanding of sar, vmstat, iostat, netstat, dtrace required
*Working knowledge of disksuite required
*Enterprise experience with jboss, bea, or tomcat required
*RBAC, ASET experience strongly preferred
*Experience in administration of Redhat Enterprise in large-scale, mission-critical environments preferred
*Legato Networker experience a plus
*Familiarity with IOS a plus; CCNA or greater preferred
*Load Balancer experience a plus; F5 and Foundry experience preferred
*Firewall experience a plus; CCSE strongly preferred
*PostgreSQL or MySQL server administration and tuning preferred
