This position is based in Mountain View, California.
Matchpoint is developing a new way to connect with providers of any kind of product or service and have them compete for your business. We are looking for experienced and skilled Java programmers. A successful candidate will have experience participating in the full software engineering cycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, QA, deployment, and support of their applications. We are writing software that runs our large scale, high volume, high uptime, web site and service. Our systems need to make real time optimization decisions with partial data, support higher level decisions with reporting, track events with integrity, flexibly present content using a variety of technologies, and run reliably, even during upgrades. Our perfect candidate has the following skills/experiences: • 5+ years work experience and highly competitive Java skills • Deep knowledge and understanding of object-oriented design • Demonstrated use of design patterns • Experience developing and deploying code to Unix environments • Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, databases, SQL, and transactions • Experience with shell, Perl, or Javascript • Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience • Familiarity with big O notation, and how to use it to understand the scalability of the applications you build. • Communicates well, and is be prepared to write code during your interview • Willing to support your team's code whenever it breaks, and enjoy collaborating in a team environment.
