Sr. Automation QA Engineer

This position is a hands-on QA Automation engineering role with a primary focus on leading the implementation of our automated regression test framework. The ideal candidate should be flexible and able to also work roughly 10% of the time on integration, functional, and system testing for QA certification of our various applications.

Candidates should possess exceptional communication skills including tact and diplomacy to maintain a cooperative relationship with development and business entities. Also an ability to communicate with both technical (developers) and non-technical (business, management) people is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the regression testing in QA organization
• Must work closely with QA and software development teams to capture test automation framework requirements
• Responsible for architecting, designing, developing, maintaining, and documenting automation scripts
• Maintain automation scripts or tools written by yourself as well as others
• Work with QA team members to port the existing repetitive test cases and automate them
• Lead in requirements gathering efforts where manual test cases are lacking and requirements are insufficient to build automated scripts
• Review, maintain and improve current automated software test methodologies and processes


REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• At least three years experience with TestDirector/Quality Center and QuickTest Pro
Mercury automation tools
• QTP experience preferable in a web and client/server environment
• At least five years automated testing experience
• At least two years of VB or VBScript programming experience and web technologies (VB, scripting languages e.g. Perl)
• SQL Server database experience required
• Solid understanding of QA processes, approaches, methodologies and software development lifecycle, and ability to apply the knowledge into daily operation
• Ability to supervise and coach QA Engineers to fulfill their tasks and responsibility
• Strong ability in root cause analysis of issues, resolving testing issues, and driving issues to closure
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience
