Job Description

Title:  Sports Data Entry Intern

Reports to:  Jim Keller

 

The mission of the PA SportsTicker Internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports / media organization. Through observation and practical experience, students learn how to function in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, the ability to perform under pressure and the utilization of essential time management skills. Through these developments, PA SportsTicker strive to successfully prepare those within placement to compete for positions in the professional sports / media  industry

 

Responsibilities

 

· Gather information by phone, fax and e-mail from event reporters during event hours (nights, weekends). 

· Compile and transmit post-game box scores and statistics

· Monitor continuity and accuracy of score reporting by field reporters and staff

· Assist with coverage of golf, tennis, auto racing, special projects, minor leagues and perennial sporting events;

· Obtain and organize schedules and rosters prior to each season and enter into database. 

 

Requirements:

· Passion for sports is a must

· Thorough knowledge of a wide variety of sports is essential

· Detail oriented and an ability to adhere strict deadlines

· Willingness to work nights and weekends
