Sponsored Search Revenue Manager

The Revenue and Analytics team at MapQuest is recruiting for an experienced Sponsored Search Revenue Manager.  This role serves as a sponsored search advertisement revenue expert, managing all aspects of our contextual and sponsored search advertising – from revenue optimization to campaign management.  In this position, you will work closely with peers who manage display advertisements and individual product managers to ensure site and page revenue optimization is achieved.  You will also manage business relationships with key revenue partners and search verticals, including Google.

 

This exciting role will require an in depth knowledge of Sponsored Search advertising, as you will lead the strategy and hands-on execution for all revenue producing Sponsored Search advertisements that appear on MapQuest.  Come prepared with an in depth knowledge of search analytics and a passion for managing advertising revenue at a campaign level.  Strong online campaign management experience and proven data analysis with revenue optimization skills are a must.

 

The ideal candidate has proven experience managing revenue producing advertisements for Publisher related content sites.  Individuals with an expert knowledge of Google Site Search tools – primarily from a publisher perspective hosting Google Adsense for Search and Adsense for Content revenue producing search ads is preferred.  A proven background in online advertising specific to Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is required.  Experience in a client or agency facing online advertising position is highly encouraged, and excellent data analysis and manipulation skills including site analytics and conversion metrics are a must.

 

Responsibilities: End to End ownership and execution for managing the revenue / placements of Google Sponsored Search Ads on MapQuest Perform data gathering, reporting, and analysis associated with Sponsored Search ad placements Hands on management and execution of ad executions, tracking ids, and reporting functions Actively test and analyze keywords for optimal revenue performance Responsible for all reporting and analysis functions associated with campaign performance and itemized forecasting / trending analysis Responsible for analyzing ad hoc traffic reports and pathing associated with user interaction and delivery of Sponsored Ad placements Perform technical campaign analysis and lead the daily administration for all aspects of our Google Sponsored Search metrics Drive strategic, analytical, and revenue execution while delivering on Plan Revenue commitments Develop performance dashboards and work closely with MapQuest Senior Revenue Managers Support site analytics and metrics reporting with detailed performance and optimization plans Coordinate revenue financials and performance with Revenue team leads and Finance Create project plans and lead project initiatives to constantly reinvent and test optimizations of Ad strategies to maximize revenue Support SEO Product Manager in alignment for optimizing relevant ad units with user audiences and targeted referrals

 

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required 5+ years experience 1-3 years experience managing search engine advertising (SEM) campaigns Revenue management or prior P&L ownership of a product or business unit is strongly preferred Must have an established online marketing background – either in client / online web properties or online agency facing product or web advertising Strong familiarity with online metrics and terminology Proven experience with Search Engine Advertising Tools – Google Adsense in particular.  Google Adwords experience is a plus. Experience with WebTrends, Omniture or other similar web reporting tool Demonstrate excellent proficiency in Excel and Access Strong problem-solving and analytics skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to adapt to fast changing environment and multitasking assignments
