(NASDAQ:DRIV). SOFTWARE ENGINEER   The position is for a software engineer to perform web application software development within a large-scale E-Commerce web application system. The candidate will need to be able to quickly become proficient in this existing system. The candidate must be able to proceed with loosely defined requirements and be adaptable to changes while implementing solutions.  The candidate should be able to consistently follow existing patterns and implement new ones when appropriate.   Digital River is looking for individuals that have an exemplary work ethic. The candidate must show proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively both independently and as a member of a team.  The candidate must have consummate time management and prioritization skills.  Successful candidates will have the "Get it Done Right" attitude. Wages are commensurate to skills and experience.   Required Experience: 4+ years software development experience 2+ years with PL/SQL development. 2+  years SQL experience, Oracle preferred 2+ years developing high volume, reliable server side software 1+ years programming experience in Java 1+ years developing in a Unix / Sun OS / Linux environment In depth knowledge of HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS Exposure to AJAX, XML related technologies (XML, XSD, XML Schema, XSLT, XPath) Required Knowledge and Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills Comfortable in a fast paced environment Proven ability to deliver results in a complex, large development projects Effective and efficient time management and problem solving skills Ability to influence others in support for a common goal Ability to translate business requirements into a technical design that can be understood and implemented by a cross functional team Strong team contribution and interaction; positive team member Highly Desired Experience and Knowledge: Experience and knowledge of the e-Commerce industry Ability to read/understand an oracle explain plans Basic SQL performance tuning Experience building web applications in an object oriented development environment IDE experience (Eclipse) Experience coding Java Server Pages with dynamic data, particularly with JSTL/Struts custom tags Experience Spring, Struts, or related presentation tier technology Experience with one or more persistence frameworks such as JDO or Hibernate Required Education: BS.
