Yahoo System Management Tools team creates software products for maintaining strategic data systems solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team and apply your development expertise and make a significant contribution to Yahoo’s core business. You will work in a team of engineers to define requirements, design tools, implement the tools, and grow the tools according to changing needs of customers. Minimum Job Qualifications * Proficient in C++ or scripting languages * Good decision making ability with open mind regarding technology choices to fit the problem. * Familiarity with object oriented software design * Ability to work in a team and on individual assignments * Unix systems (FreeBSD, Linux) and/or Microsoft development experience. * Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. * B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field. Preferable Job Qualifications * 1 to 3 years working experience developing software products * User interface tooling expertise. * Familiarity with Agile development process and software development methodologies * Expertise in SQL, NFS, TCP/IP, HTTP, PHP a plus * Expertise in Perl or shell script * Experience with data processing tools, relational databases, and exposure to large-scale systems development projects preferred. * Knowledge of MySQL database and performance tuning
