Senior QA Release Engineer

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced software test engineer with a background in black box and white box testing of back end applications.

Quality Assurance at Netflix is not about waiting for some code to fly over the wall from development. It's about providing an environment for the development engineers that helps them minimize the number of bugs that make it into the code in the first place. Working with the IT Hubs team, you will help us re-define our systems to better interface with all of our systems.

You will provide your expertise in understanding what to test, how to test. You will be in charge of building an automated regression and UI test suit, build production monitoring tools as well as interface with the release team to simplify and facilitate deployment to production.
Given a schedule that is always too short and a feature list that is always too long, you'll identify and efficiently evaluate those changes to our software that pose the greatest risk to a smooth experience for hubs.


Experience & Competencies:

Required:
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• At least 5 years of white and black box testing for 3 tier applications
• Excellent at coding test scripts using tools like JUnit or NUnit
• Past experience with Database programming (Oracle or MS SQL Server)
• Experience testing high volume and multi tier applications

Nice To Have:
• Prior working knowledge of Test Complete product.
• Past experience working on Agile projects
• Experience interfacing disparate systems
• Worked in fast moving Startups.
• Java or .NET knowledge


Education:
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent engineering.
