Project Manager

Reports to CEO and Executive Vice President. The Wireless Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the intricate details involved in individual community wireless projects that Great Auk Wireless is deploying throughout the New England area. A knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, fixed wireless models and wireless hotspots are all a plus. The ability to perform detail oriented tasks within time deadlines is paramount to being successful in this position. The position is full time based out of Brattleboro although some travel will required throughout New England.  It is also expected that the Project Manager may need to attend evening and/or weekend meetings on occassion at various communities throughout the Region. Responsible for organizing the deployment phase of the network of a growing Wireless Internet Service Provider in the New England market. Responsible for the organizing and implementation of network upgrades of both the wireless high-speed PTMP networks and the WIFI networks. Work closely with external systems and network integrators to expand the existing GAW high-speed wireless network in the New England market. Oversee a diverse network and operational staff in multiple office locations on a project by project basis. Determine Backhaul and transport options from TELCO and VOIP wholesale providers. Review and track project deliverables for Executive Management Team. Provide monthly reporting of network progress to Executive Management Team. Review and approve all proposals, Statements of Work (SoW), and Quotes for integrator services. Frequently travel to GAW broadcast sites to evaluate standards and practices to ensure consistency of work. Evaluate new network locations in conjunction with network management staff. JOB REQUIREMENTS

The position requires a minimum of three years of project management experience in a technical environment. Proven Track Record of Success with well funded Start-up companies. Knowledge of the wireless data or cellular industries is required.  Direct ISP management experience is preferred. A knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure is a plus. Direct supervisory experience of field construction and contracting crews is mandatory. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

The position requires a minimum of three years of project management experience in a technical environment. A knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, fixed wireless models and wireless hotspots are all a plus. Experience in managing internal technical staff and external contractor companies is critical. The ability to perform detail oriented tasks within time deadlines is paramount to being successful in this position. Bachelors Degree in Business or related relevant experience in managing community-based or large projects.
