As we continue to grow, so do our staffing needs. World Avenue is seeking a Platform Project Manager. This position is responsible for providing architectural and big picture oversight for the development of new or enhanced websites and related web products by performing the following duties.
Summary:
As a Project Manager with WorldAvenue you will be responsible for managing software development and implementation projects. The ideal candidate for this position is organized; detail oriented, has great communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will need to apply these skills in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, business analysis, requirements definition, building project plans, coordinating all resources and stakeholders, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of all assigned projects. You will work among a team of engineers, developers, project managers and QA for support and collaboration. To be considered for this position, you will have experience with the implementation or development of a Content Management System for online Internet Marketing (e.g. Publishing and Advertising); experience with leading Java based development initiatives (Java/J2EE/JSP/JavaScript); and experience with high traffic internet content business (Amazon.com, NY Times.com, AOL.com, Yahoo.com).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Planning
• Work with customers and resources at WorldAvenue and its affiliate companies to identify customer requirements, and scope the effort associated with implementing those requirements.
• Be well versed in communicating the features and benefits of the product sets, and work with the customer to implement requirements that may not be satisfied through existing features.
• Plan projects in order to accomplish goals within constraints such as time, cost, and agreed quality standards.
• Schedule tasks, deadlines, and milestones for all stakeholders and resources using Gantt charts and providing detailed milestones for all parties.
• Identify schedule uncertainties and risks for both client and project teams.
• Implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Execution
• Run projects on a day-to-day basis (Agile/SCRUM methodology)
• Coordinate designers, engineers, QA, other WorldAvenue subject matter experts, vendors, service providers, and clients to deliver milestones according to the plan.
• Coordinate communication between staff and customers.
• Efficiently and competently manage problem resolution, e.g. scope-creep, changed requirements, missed deadlines, etc. Establish ‘go-to-green’ plans, and bring the team back on plan or create a new plan with the assistance of key stakeholders.
Evaluation and Reporting
• Track and report team hours and manage project budget
• Analyze and ensure project profitability
Process
• Create, maintain, and constantly look to improve development and implementation processes
Client Management
• Schedule and attend meetings with clients
• Explain the technology in the proposed solutions to clients and others, when applicable
• Articulate design rationale and function strategy as it directly relates to accomplishing goals set out, when applicable.
• Obtain, discuss, and follow-through with feedback from the client
• Investigate and answer client questions
• Support and help troubleshoot delivered work during the project and post-project
• Ensure client expectations are met and exceeded in terms of quality of product and service delivered.
General
• Will be responsible for managing concurrent projects
• Proficiency with Windows, Linux (CentOS/RedHat), MS Office, MS Project

General Requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university
• 5 to 10 years experience managing software projects in an Internet-based company
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Excellent project management and leadership skills
• Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally
