Mobile Product Manager

As a Mobile Product Manager at Synacor, you will determine the product line strategy and expansion of Synacor products and services to our up and coming mobile platform.  The Mobile Product Manager is a dream job for an experienced mobile and internet professional with a passion for creating and launching new products and services.  The ideal candidate should have experience working in an Internet or mobile company, and should be well versed in Web 2.0 and related technologies.  This position requires the ability to serve as an active participant in the delivery of organizational business objectives as well as serving as a subject matter expert on Synacor’s mobile product line.  By combining mobile technology experience, business acumen, and product management experience, your thought leadership will help shape the future of Synacor’s portals!

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Determine the mobile product line strategy and performance metrics of product suite.

· Identify additional monetization and product adoption opportunities.

· Coordinate and communicate with business, technical, and operations groups to understand objectives and limitations of each group and incorporate feedback into thorough, well-written product requirements.

· Translate business requirements into product specifications, and work closely with an engineering team to translate these into technical specifications.

· Oversee projects through the product development lifecycle from inception through release, handling all coordination between cross-functional teams.

· Work with the User Experience and Development teams during the product design and development phases to ensure requirements are being met and key design input is being incorporated.

· Work closely with the Marketing team to deliver collaterals and promotional elements to meet objectives for lead generation/awareness and client deployment.

· Identify and plan the key requirements for the software product that will deliver capability across multiple, consumer branded websites.

· Proactively identify process improvements and work to achieve consensus and drive implementation.

 

Education, Experience and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of four to eight years of product management experience and three to five years of mobile experience. Experience in launch successful large scale products.Experience in driving product strategy and creating product requirementsStrong project management experience.Understanding of media, such as photos, video and social experience preferredExperience in working with hand set providers and mobile carriers Very strong communication and presentation skills required

 

This position is located in Buffalo, NY.  We will provide relocation.
