Position Summary:

Manage the deployment and operation of the software tools required to support the jabNETâ„¢ Media Network. The candidate will need to develop an in depth working knowledge of the software tools needed to support our initiative to expand our media services. The individual will manage and recommend features and functions and also research and implement new tools as necessary. This individual will assume the position of in house expert on the software applications we currently use or may add in the future. Media Software Applications Manager we be responsible to train AboveNet operations people and customers on the use and functions of the software. The individual will provide the Director of Media Products with reports regarding status of the software, implementation plans, testing and validation procedures, and complete the testing needed prior to release of new features and functions to the customers. The Media Software Applications Manager will lead the training of the AboveNet team members as necessary to integrate the software applications into the standard business practices.

Responsibilities:

•Develop test and implementation plan for the migration from the existing customer self provisioning tool to the new provisioning tool; •Work with other AboveNet departments including engineering, and operations to assure successful integrations of software tools into AboveNet’s operations structure; •Understand and define how the software application will support and manage the company’s media products and services; •Work with the media products team and pre and post sales people to develop and modify the tool set to meet the company’s requirements; •Coordinate media business support with other Abovenet products and services; •Work with media industry professionals and facilitate their utilization of AboveNet’s media transport services; •The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls and all internal controls processes; •The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity; •Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

•Minimum of 5-7 years experience deploying and managing one or more of the following applications: Content Management Software; File transfer management software and file accelerations applications; Network based storage, and media transport; Media transport or transmission Scheduling; Facilities scheduling. •Relentless focus on department goals and objectives and cross-organizational influence; •Outstanding analytical ability to synthesize information from a wide variety of sources and translate into specific action plans and deliverables; •Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to address a wide variety of audiences; •Proficient communicating and interacting with senior executives; •Support corporate sales training and product training activities; •Strong attention to detail and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; •Knowledge of SOA, OSS-J, NGOSS based products a plus; •Travel to customer locations and other AboveNet facilities will be required; •Bachelors Degree required or equivalent job experience; •Office-based working environment with some travel to customer locations and to other AboveNet offices.
