Market Research Analyst

THE ROLE

Given the large amounts of customer data on-hand at Netflix, the majority of research is conducted in-house by the Consumer Insights team. As such, Consumer Insights at Netflix is best described as a team of internal consultants who provide research, analytical support, and insight to the company’s functional groups including Product Development and Marketing as well as other areas as needed.

As Netflix continues to enjoy progressive industry-leading success and growth, research demands are evolving both in complexity and magnitude. Accordingly, the Consumer Insights team is seeking to hire a highly analytical individual to support these increasing demands.

Working within the Marketing Department, the Analyst of Consumer Insights will support the Consumer Insights team with respect to quantitative and qualitative research needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This person will focus primarily on the technical aspects of qualitative and quantitative research studies. Specifically, he/she will oversee the following:

• Scripting and programming questionnaires.
• Managing the customer sampling process to ensure proper quotas, criteria and procedure is followed.
• Monitoring and providing updates on survey response (to internal clients)
• Crosstab design and execution.
• Report design and set up.
• Report automation for ongoing studies.
• Recruiting and scheduling for in-house focus groups.
• Managing several research projects simultaneously.
• Supporting other research team members in larger research efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.A. / B.S. degree in Marketing, Social Sciences, or Computer Science
• 2-5 years’ professional experience in vendor-side market research or equivalent.
• Superior technical skills, including:
o SPSS or SAS
o Wincross or other crosstabulation software
o Confirmit or other web survey tool
o Java, HTML, Visual Basic
o Excel, PowerPoint
• Familiarity with primary research methodologies (phone, web, focus groups, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages concurrently.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and self-monitoring.
