Linux Systems Administrator

CWIE Holding now has openings for highly qualified and seasoned System Administrators at our data center located in the downtown Phoenix area. Overall, our Data Center is required to maintain high availability, volume, and redundancy.  You would work with expert colleagues in Network Security and Design, Linux Administration, and Bandwidth Optimization. This is an opportunity to acquire more experience alongside professionals that will heighten your chances of advancing in a highly competitive environment.

 

With over 2500 servers to maintain and over 400 clients to serve, your day would consist of a great deal of variety.For some of our shared hosting clients, they need hands on support as they enter the e-commerce field.  You would act as their resident expert and advise them on the best path to follow for success.  For our larger clients, you would work with their system administration team to create the optimal design to handle their large volumes.  Additionally, you would be expected to develop your skills to continue your career path with our company.  Most of our higher level positions are available to qualified internal employees prior to advertising externally.  In many cases, training for these upper level positions is provided.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Systems Administrators are the main line of communication for the hosting aspect of CWIE. They troubleshoot issues, enact changes/upgrades and implement new services. Additionally, System Administrators provide hands-on support for the CCBill system.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Accountable for projects and duties assigned to them.

§  Resolves customer issues via phone and email.

§  Install, upgrade, repair and remove hardware as necessary.

§  Install, configure, upgrade and remove software as necessary.

§  Monitor customer, CWIE, CCBill and internal systems.

§  Follow escalation procedures as needed.

§  Proactively communicate with customers when issues arise.

§  Ability to work in a noisy environment.

§  Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

§  Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.

§  Other duties as assigned.

 

Physical requirements:

§  Ability to sit for long periods of time.

§  Ability to type for long periods of time.

§  Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

 

ATTENDANCE requirements:

§  This position is full-time.  Employee is expected to work 40 hours weekly.

§  Schedule will be determined by the supervisor.  Employee is expected to follow the schedule.

§  Employee is to report to his or her supervisor if unable to attend work

 

Qualifications:

§  Linux, FreeBSD and Windows operating system proficiency.

§  FTP, HTTP, SSH, MYSQL and DNS proficiency.

§  Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Explorer.

§  Must have personal reliable automotive transportation.

§  High degree of professionalism.

§  High school degree or equivalent.

§  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

§  Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.

§  Proven team player.

§  Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees/management.

§  Demonstrated ability to handle high levels of stress.
