The Public Sector Healthcare group at CGI Federal is looking for an Interactive Graphic Designer to join our User Experience Team. Individual must be highly collaborative and have ability that spans all areas of the front end development process.
The Interactive Graphic Designer will be responsible for research and design efforts for web based user interface design, creating design concepts that take advantage of today’s technology. Under the direction of the Design Manager, the Interactive Graphic Designer will work with the Information Architect, as well as BA and TA SMEs and client stakeholders, to develop strategies and specifications for the look and feel of multiple web based projects. The Interactive Graphic Designer will synthesize information gathered from client meetings, team collaboration, best practices, branding guidelines and competitive analyses to develop mock ups and user interface diagrams the meet both user and client needs. In addition, the Interactive Graphic Designer will participate in Usability Testing and help determine how best to integrate these findings into the user interface.

Required skills include:
• 3+ years digital graphic design experience demonstrated through an online portfolio

• Hands on design of web sites and web based applications designed from the ground up (not just sites contributed to or produced)

• Fluency with core graphic design principles and interactive trends (typography, form, color, composition, imagery, brand management, animation)

• Application of leading edge creative in parallel with web standards and usability best practices, including 508 compliance

• Experience carrying design concepts forward from wireframes to XHTML/CSS, keeping in mind how the end product will be built

• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Flash

• Expert knowledge of Visio, InDesign and other widely accepted UI design tools

• Working knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS, cross browser issues, .NET, JavaScript Frameworks (JQuery and JSON) and other evolving interface standards

• Experience with large scale custom application or CMS (Content Management Systems) projects

• Experience with logo and identity design preferred

• Experience with social media and mobile technologies preferred

• Experience working with government clients a plus

• Experience with print design a plus
