The Position:
Boston.com is looking for an Interactive Graphic Designer to be an integral part of the five-person creative team for Sales and Marketing. This position touches upon all areas of design but will take lead as art director or consultant on all interactive and Flash projects.
You must have a design background and fluent proficiency in Flash (with Actionscripting), Photoshop, and Illustrator. HTML/Dreamweaver and Quark/InDesign experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to tackle a wide variety of design challenges while finding creative ways to use Flash and animation for effective messaging and enhanced user engagement.
The Sales and Marketing Design team at Boston.com conceptualizes and produces creative for outside advertisers as well as in-house marketing creative for both Boston.com and The Boston Globe. We operate in the style of an agency, with tremendous variety in design work. This position would be mostly interactive advertising and web design, with significant print, outdoor, and merchandising design in the mix. There is opportunity for advancement. The team environment is fast paced but friendly and fun, and non-work pursuits are accommodated and encouraged outside of our 40-hour work week.
Minimum education: BFA/BA in design or visual arts. 2+ years experience designing with Flash required. Prior agency/design firm experience a plus.
