General Manager, Auto Community Websites (Sales Exp Required)

Los Angeles-based, Internet Brands, Inc. is currently seeking a General Manager for our Automotive Community Websites who has a great deal of sales experience, preferably in the online advertising arena. The Automotive Community General Manager will be an advertising sales focused, resourceful internet entrepreneur responsible for the growth and success of more than 35 online automotive communities and will be charged with leading the division to the next level. The position will be responsible for:Driving revenue growth across community sites primarily through advertising sales.Creating and executing strategic and tactical traffic, monetization, content development, user participation, advertising and operational plans within the communities.Building and nurturing relationships with key leaders of the communities. Developing appropriate policies to govern forum participation, forum memberships, advertising sponsorships, vendor partnerships, etc. Understanding community needs, market requirements and competitive trends and using that knowledge to further the success of projects and operations. Creating and proposing new product ideas, working closely with the Auto Tech Project Manager. Making enhancements to existing products. Evaluating acquisition candidates. Integrating new acquisitions. Managing all team members.Experience/Qualifications:Direct sales experience, preferable with online.Prior web and dot com experience is a must; passion for Automotive vertical is a plus.Strong business skills.Proven ability to maintain and grow a fast-paced, dynamic operation.Proven product related experience incubating projects from concept to implementation.Familiarity with Forums, Bulletin Boards, and online communities and use the Internet to drive business.Minimum 1-2 years of P&L experience with a quantifiable record of growing revenue and profits.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and project management capabilities.Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and work streams.Ability to interact with and to develop relationships with a diverse group of personnel ranging from senior executives to middle managers to technical individual contributors.
