Foam / Shift Supervisor (Manufacturing)
Job Responsibilities:
§ Oversee the production of foam products for our Packaging Division including both internal and external customers. Coordinate with all other departments and functional teams, as needed, to ensure customer orders are met.
§ Lead the foam production personnel and manage time cards, performance reviews, headcount, efficiency, safety practices, company policy adherence, and training.
§ Adhere to and help advance the production practices and manufacturing processes to ensure the area meets its on-time-delivery, quality, and efficiency goals.
§ Monitor the equipment status and report concerns or machine down conditions to the maintenance department.
§ Develop alternate routings when necessary to minimize the impact to customer orders.
§ Interface with purchasing to expedite any material requirements that impact production.
§ Schedule the shop floor in order to maximize efficiency and coordinate production to meet customer orders. Administer work-orders on the shop floor.
§ Communicate effectively at all levels and elevate issues when conditions impacting performance occur.
§ Identify, plan for, and implement improvements in the Foam Department as part of continuous improvement.
§ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
§ 5-7 years as a production supervisor. Job shop experience, multi-shift responsibility, and Packaging Industry background a plus. Must be able to read engineering specs.
§ Working in and implementing Lean Mfg Practices required.
§ College degree in a technical field preferred. High School graduate – required.
§ Min. 2 years working in a structured continuous improvement environment and ISO certified location.
§ Must be familiar with MRP systems and be able to work within them.
§ Proven track record in delivering results and goal attainment.
§ Team player. Able to drive consensus and create change.
