Title: Essbase Administrator The Essbase Administrator is responsible for enterprise-wide administration, report design and support of Hyperion Essbase. The primary focus is utilizing advanced functions within the Hyperion Essbase tool suite to gain optimum efficiency and accuracy. The individual will workwith BP&A, Finance, and other corporate organizations on the design and implementation of a BI solution. What You’ll Do: • Perform and lead Essbase modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts. • Evaluate and develop specifications (Statement of Work) for business requirements and processes (new, enhancements, maintenance) for the design of Essbase databases. • Act in a technical role to maintain, analyze, assist or direct the development of moderately complex Essbase applications through the utilization of available technology, tools, and existing designs. • Work in a highly dynamic environment, resolve problems and make adjustments as required to existing Essbase applications. • Provide customer support and resolve issues. • Verify program logic by preparing test data for trial runs, test and debug programs. • Oversee integration of Hyperion Essbase applications into overall IT infrastructure including the deployment of Star Integration Server and Hyperion’s interaction with Oracle relational databases. • Participate in the overall systems testing. • Support the implementation of the Essbase application into production. • Document the procedures for existing and newly-developed applications What You'll Need to Bring: • 4 year degree or 3 to 5+ years experience. • 3+ years experience with Oracle/Hyperion Essbase. • 5+ years experience with production databases. • Experience working with planning, and financial reporting applications. • Preferred Skills: • Proficient in Hyperion Essbase (v.6.5.7 or higher), including calc scripting, outlines, report writer, data load rules, Esscmd, Maxl and Excel client add-on. • Multidimensional database design, development, tuning and optimization. • Project life-cycle experience. • Experience in a highly dynamic environment with high service level expectations. • Self-starter with ability to work on projects with minimum supervision. • Ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting demands. • Strong analytical and data verification skills to ensure ongoing data integrity. • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and user relationship building skills. • Positive attitude toward completing required menial database maintenance tasks. • Proficient in Excel and Word with basic working knowledge of PowerPoint and Access. • Working knowledge of financial accounting principles.
