Disaster Recovery

The objective of this position is to document the process of re-establishing critical agency functions in the event of unplanned interruptions that may develop from a variety of sources such as natural disasters, power outages, system or technology failures or criminal acts.

 

The initial focus is IT operations and alignment with the overall continuity plans of the agency. The work may extend into revision of the main Disaster Recovery Plan for the entire organization.

 

This includes IT operations as well as critical business functions. Documentation may include textual descriptions or instructions, network diagrams, flowcharts and/or business process charts.

 

 

The candidate will have to following qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, English, Technical Writing or comparable field

• 3-5 years of experience documenting highly technical processes or procedures including text descriptions, process mapping and flow-charting

• 2 or more years of experience with networking technologies and documenting network layouts

• 1 or more years prior experience interviewing staff member of all levels to document work assignments

• Prior experience developing business continuity plans or documentation is a plus

• Candidate must have the ability to work with a variety of personalities and communication styles to illicit appropriate levels of understanding of business processes

 

Must have exceptional documentation skills
