For the flexible-minded professional, Orbitz Worldwide means you’ve arrived.  Data Architecture Responsibilities Create technical database design specifications from Business and Technical requirements.  These specifications include the conceptual process flow, data flow diagram, physical data model, data capacity estimates and implementation plan. Troubleshoot issues, diagnose the root cause, and recommend solutions. Create proof of concept to demonstrate feasibility of an idea Create benchmark tests to provide fact based analysis in order to confirm assumptions Identify technical trends and keep abreast of new technologies and strategies to solve problems, detailing the advantages and disadvantages of any given technology or strategy Provide the deployment team with well documented and standardized deployment and rollback scripts.Operational Support Responsibilities Support application and operations teams post-deployment. Create and maintain operations tools and utilities supporting database maintenance and integrity. Participate in rotating on-call support Best-Practices and Successful Work Execution Responsibilities Work with project manager and technical lead to plan, organize and execute the development effort. · Perform design reviews across stakeholders, including product owners, operational and deployment DBAs, peer Data Architects, and data warehouse consumers. Ensure model and scripts adhere to security and corporate standards.Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or related discipline. 3-5+ years of general and progressively responsible experience performing complex database design, development, implementation guidance and post production troubleshooting. Must have working knowledge of N-tier software architecture components. Good verbal and written communication skills. Expert relational database knowledge of 3rd normal form with ability to balance academic knowledge with pragmatism. Advanced to expert knowledge of at least one DBMS product. Ability to work with many short and long term projects simultaneously. Ability to work with little or no guidance. Familiarity with different forms of database replication. Experience in a high performance, highly available enterprise environment.Technical Qualifications – Must have: · Expert knowledge of SQL· Fluent knowledge of PL/SQL or comparable language.· Experience with SQL performance analysis and tuning· Erwin or other ERD modeling tool  · Unix, Shell Scripting· Experience with Agile developmentQualifications – Nice to have: · Oracle Certified Professional status.· Data mart or Data warehouse experience
