That's the energy and excitement behind Amazon. Business Analyst, Vendor Management Tools Amazon.com seeks a Business Analyst to join the North American Vendor Management team. This individual will provide a wide variety of reports and analysis and interact with Retail and Operations functions. Candidate will focus on metrics and analysis driving improvements in procurement lead time, inbound defect reduction and general vendor performance. Deliver performance reporting for vendor management and retail teams. Automate the reporting of existing metrics and drive the development of new metrics based on user needs. Participate in the design and development of reporting structures and interfaces. Investigate metrics to identify trends and root causes that have substantial impact on retail and operations performance and provide recommendations for action. Ad-hoc analysis in support of projects for a variety of initiatives. Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills Excellent written and spoken communication Excellent communication skills at all levels with the ability to present information in a professional and mature manner Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to Multi-task Excellent skills and experience in common data tools such as Excel and Access Understanding of Linux or Unix operations systems desired. Experience working with SQL/Mysql/Oracle is desired. Experience working in a Retail or Operations organization is a plus Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other quantitative discipline (e.g. Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, and Informatics) preferred, but not required Prior use of Lean or Six Sigma analytical techniques is a plus
