We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Workers Compensation Subrogation Unit Manager.  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is located in the Reading, PA National Workers Compensation Subrogation Center.   Provide overall leadership and direction to a team of Subrogation/Workers Compensation claim handlers including coaching, mentoring and development. Ensure appropriate deployment of resources to maximize productivity and unit cost. Manage relationships and enhance collaboration between our Workers Compensation Team and our key business partners including SIU, Risk Control, MCU, Underwriting and Staff Counsel, leading to a superior joint Subrogation product.   Effectively manage ULAE and ALAE to help promote competitiveness in the market place. Maximize recoveries through the application of Best Practices at the desk level.   Ongoing technical claim oversight and direction to staff, in line with claim complexity and exposure.  Regular interaction with Subrogation Major Case Unit, Legal and Home Office resources to manage large exposure/high complexity losses.   Periodic customer, agent and broker visitation. EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:College degree preferred or equivalent Subrogation or Liability Claim experience preferred.   REQUISITE SKILLS: Strong leadership skills required to effectively manage Subrogation/Workers Compensation claims.   Strong communication skills required to effectively deal with internal and external customers. Litigation Management experience.   Demonstrated critical thinking, decision making ability, ingenuity and self starter. Current knowledge of jurisdictional laws and regulations. The ability to work with a sense of urgency to get results. Customer Focus - Able to provide a high degree of customer service.   COMPUTER SKILLS:Computer literateBasic typing skills OTHER: Occasional overnight travel may be required. In addition to an exciting environment, we offer: * Competitive base salary with additional opportunities for variable pay through recognition programs and incentive awards * 401(k) with company match* Comprehensive health plans that include coverage for same sex/domestic partners* Strong work/family and employee assistance programs* Tuition reimbursement * Vacation Purchase Plan* Training/Development opportunities We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
