Windows Server Application Support Team Leader

Directs life cycle management of projects/programs and resources associated with them, including people, software, hardware, and financial. Designs and develops project structure and serves as primary point of contact for functional area from inception to delivery. Ensures adequate resources and structure of project team and identifies issues. Jointly, with the customer, decides standards and measures for quality and customer satisfaction requirements.

Schedules, provides technical direction, future planning and standard development practices, ensuring compliance of enterprise IS standards while directing technical teams through single and matrix staffs. May monitor multiple projects simultaneously.

Ensures the compliance of enterprise IS standards and that service levels and agreements are kept to those standards.

Works with business unit managers and forms alliances on projects, operations decisions, scheduling requirements/conflicts.

Provides resource management, ensuring project management process is in place and that quality and timely solutions are provided
Leads the research, evaluation and recommendation of new technologies.

Leads staff by assigning tasks and promoting teamwork and collaboration; and oversees the performance of staff, providing input to employee performance appraisals and referring performance issues to manager, trains/coaches employees in new skills, tracks and monitors employee attendance and acts as an employee resource for personal/work issues.

Understands appropriate employee relations policies and procedures.

Makes recommendations to manager to ensure adequate staffing levels (including consultants). Provides input on candidates to be interviewed and interviews prospective candidates. Ensures adequate skill level is maintained.

Develops budget input, recommends expenditures and gains cost center manager approval of expenses which are not in the budget before they are incurred.

Engages in other activities, including but not limited to providing input to monthly management report, making decisions with other IS groups to ensure effective cross functional decisions, assisting with resolving problems of a complex nature.

Works independently but under general supervision.


Associates degree in MIS or equivalent work experience, required.

BA/BS degree in MIS or related discipline preferred

Windows 2000/2003 MCSE & MCDBA, desirable

5+ years IS Support Experience

1 year as team/project leader, with a track record of managing and executing projects to successful completion.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts or business rules in business terms.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills, skilled in both strategic and tactical planning relating to information technology and business applications.

Strong customer focus with ability to manage client expectations of business sponsor/business unit staff.

Demonstrated ability to staff, lead, influence and motivate individuals that may comprise multiple, results-driven project teams which apply skills and techniques to solve problems and to meet business objectives.

Strong project management skills with experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from vision through implementation involving cross-functional staff and both internal and external resources.

Demonstrated ability with project life cycle management with the ability to plan and execute large scale projects.

Strong technical knowledge with hands-on experience managing systems implementation and operations; knowledge of relevant technology, tools, and middleware is critical, including Microsoft Windows Server, Web Servers, and TCP/IP networking

Working knowledge of current technologies and appropriate technologies, tools, and techniques with which to build business applications to solve business problems.

Knowledge of FM Global Business Processes and applications
